Le Campus

Belval, Esch-Alzette

Located in the heart of a historically significant area, the campus is situated in the new urban neighborhood of Belval in the south of the country. Indeed, up until the mid-20th century, the region was the center for one of Luxembourg’s most prolific industries: the steel plants. After the tertiary sector took over the economy, it was largely abandoned. But now, Belval is the proud product of an industrial wasteland converted into the new center for education and entertainment in Luxembourg. Many important infrastructures have their main residence in Belval, such as the University of Luxembourg, the Luxembourg Learning Center, or the Rockhal.

Access

Belval is easily accessible by car and public transport. The car ride from Luxembourg-City takes approximately 20min (via A4) and from the airport 25min (via A1 and A4). Additionally, the French border is just around the corner and directly connected to Belval with the A30 highway just 15min south of the region. Belval also offers an excellent connection in terms of public transportation. The train ride from Luxembourg-City to Belval lasts 30min and it takes a 5 min walk to reach the campus from the station. With two bus stations each less than a minute from the campus, Belval is also perfectly connected with the rest of the southern region and even Trier in Germany.

Facilities

The campus

42 Luxembourg’s campus is divided into two floors (4th and 5th in the C1 wing). It is able to accommodate up to 150 people in total. And equipped with computer rooms, a recreation room and a cafeteria, all your wants and needs are taken care of.

Computer rooms

This is where the magic happens. 42 Luxembourg has at your disposal only the best, state-of-the-art computers to accomplish your projects.

Restaurants

With your MyCard, you have access to the student restaurants operated by Restopolis, the official food service of the Ministry of National Education. Belval campus features 4 such restaurants offering various menus, in and around the University of Luxembourg. Alternatively, there is an array of different restaurants and fast food stores for you to choose from. No matter if you like Italian, Korean, Indian, Subway or Domino’s, Belval has got you covered.

The “Terres Rouges” building

42 Luxembourg’s campus is based in the building called “Terres Rouges” (French for red soil). With its surface area of more than 35.000m2 and its big, red tower, it is one the most remarkable buildings in the region. It is also one of the first to be constructed when the plans to rebuild Belval were executed 20 years ago.

Recreating room

We know that non-stop coding is exhausting and we don’t want your heads to be fuming too much. We have a few recreation areas in our facilities and hope to unveil a few more fun things before the official start of our first year.

Fablab

If you are looking for a creative outlet, we have at your disposal our FabLab where you can give free rein to your imagination and creativity with the laser cutter, the 3D Printer and more.
